Pat Hartley is a Hungarian-American actress, film director and producer. She was the featured in theAndy Warhol filmsScreen Test,My Hustler andPrison at Warhol'sThe Factory in the 1960s.[1][2] Hartley also appeared in the filmsRainbow Bridge withJimi Hendrix[1][2] andAbsolute Beginners.[3]
She was married to filmmakerDick Fontaine and together in New York they founded Grapevine Pictures, a film production company, in the 1980s and produced such films as the documentariesI Heard it Through the Grapevine featuring writerJames Baldwin about his time in the American South during the civil rights era[4][5] andArt Blakey: The Jazz Messenger.[2]
Hartley and Fontaine are the parents of music critic Smokey Fontaine.[6]
Hartley has also co-directed, choreographed and writtenmusic videos for such musical artists asJohnny Rotten andAfrika Bambaataa as well asKeith LeBlanc.[1]
