Pasqual Ferrándiz Arroyo (born March 24, 1961[1]), known by the pen-namePasqual Ferry (sometimes credited asPaschalis,Pascual orPascal Ferry), is a Spanishcomic bookartist andpenciller.

Biography

Ferry was interested in comics from an early age, stating his first love in comics "wasFranquin,Mézières, especially andMoebius". Ferry's interest in superhero comics came after a visit to the offices ofMarvel Comics in New York.[1]

In Spain, Ferry worked for Albert Rué's animation studio, as well as publishing work in a number of Spanish comic magazines.[2]

In 1993, Ferry created the characterPlasmer with writerGlenn Dakin for an eponymous 4-issue miniseries forMarvel UK.[3]

When Marvel UK closed in 1995, Ferry moved to working for Marvel Comics.[4] After providing fill-in for several issues ofX-Men-related comics, he launched the firstHeroes for Hire series in 1997 withRoger Stern andJohn Ostrander, and would provide pencils on 15 of the 19 issues.[5]

In 1999, Ferry provided pencils on all nine issues of aWarlock miniseries, written byLouise Simonson.[4][6][7]

After leaving Marvel, Ferry worked on severalDC Comics, includingSuperboy (1994),Action Comics (2000) andAdam Strange (2004).[8]

In 2005, he and writerGrant Morrison began work on theSeven Soldiers of Victorylimited seriesMister Miracle, which re-introduced theShilo Norman version of the character.[9] However, due to scheduling issues, he was only able to do the first issue.[4]

In mid-2006, Ferry became the new artist onMarvel'sUltimate Fantastic Four with writerMike Carey.[2]

In 2010, Ferry became the regular artist onMarvel'sThor teamed with writerMatt Fraction.[10]

In 2016, Ferry launched a crowdfunding campaign for a creator-owned comic entitledALICE, inspired byLewis Caroll’sAlice in Wonderland.[11]

In 2019, Ferry provided the primary cover art for theImage Comics seriesChrononauts: Futureshock.[12]

In 2021, Ferry partnered withChip Zdarsky on a newWhat If series for Marvel titledSpider-Man: Spider's Shadow.[13]

In March 2023, Ferry launched a newDoctor Strange ongoing series with writer Jed MacKay.[14][15]

In May 2025, Ferry was announced as the artist on the relaunchedThor comic, later revealed asThe Mortal Thor, written byAl Ewing.[16][17]
