Parataxidea is anextinctgenus ofmustelid that lived inEurasia during theLate Miocene andEarly Pliocene.

Distribution

P. sinensis isknown fromfossils found inChina.[1]P. maraghana is known fromTurkey.[2]

Palaeopathology

AParataxidea sp.specimen has been found in theLiushu Formation displayingevidence ofossifying fibroma.[3]
