Parahypopta caestrum is a species ofmoth of the familyCossidae. It is found on theIberian Peninsula and inFrance,Italy,Austria, theCzech Republic,Slovakia,Hungary, on theBalkan Peninsula,[1] as well as inJordan,Israel,Syria,Iraq,Turkey, south-westernRussia andKazakhstan.[2]
Thewingspan is 28–40 mm. Adults have been recorded on wing in June and July.
The larvae feed onAsparagus officinalis,Asparagus maritime,Asparagus tenuifolis,Asparagus albus,Asparagus acutifolis, andCeltis australis.
