She then facedJelena Dokić who eventually defeated her in the third round (7–6, 7–5).[2] InAthletics,Nery Kennedy participated in Men's Javelin Throw andMariana Canillas participated in Women's Discus. In theSwimming events,Antonio Leon Candia took part in theMen's 100 metre Breaststroke andAndrea Prono in theWomen's 100 metre Backstroke.[3]
