Parachronistis albiceps, thewood groundling, is amoth of the familyGelechiidae. It is found in most of Europe, except theIberian Peninsula and part of theBalkan Peninsula.[1] Outside of Europe, it is found in southernSiberia (Transbaikalia, Altai), theRussian Far East andKorea.[2]
Thewingspan is 10–12 mm.[3] Adults are on wing in June and July.[4]
The larvae feed onCorylus (includingCorylus avellana),Ulmus andPrunus persica species. They feed inside the buds of their host plant.
