Papyrus 90, also known asP. Oxy. L 3523, is a small fragment from theGospel of John 18:36-19:7. It is designated by thesiglum𝔓90 in theGregory-Aland numbering of New Testament manuscripts. Using the study of comparative writing styles (palaeography), it has been assigned to the late 2nd century CE.[1]

The papyrus is written on both sides, indicating this was likely acodex (the precursor to the modernbook). It is currently housed at theSackler Library (Papyrology Rooms, P. Oxy. 3523) inOxford.[2][3]
The Greek text of this codex is considered a representative of theAlexandrian text-type. Due to its early date, Biblical scholarKurt Aland placed it inCategory I of his New Testament classification system.[2]
Papyrologist and biblical scholarPhilip W. Comfort says "𝔓90 has [close] textual affinity with𝔓66 ... [and] some affinity withCodex Sinaiticus (א)."[4]
