Pannonia Savia or simplySavia, also known asPannonia Ripariensis, was a LateRomanprovince. It was formed in the year 295, during theTetrarchy reform ofRoman emperorDiocletian, and assigned to thecivil diocese ofPannonia, which was attached in the fourth century to thePraetorian prefecture of Illyricum, and later to thePraetorian prefecture of Italy.
During the 4th and 5th centuries, the province was raided several times, by migrating peoples, includingHuns andGoths. In the 490s, it became part of theOstrogothic Kingdom.[1]
The capital of the province wasSiscia (todaySisak). Pannonia Savia included parts of present-dayCroatia,Slovenia andBosnia and Herzegovina.
