Pangong Range

ThePangong Range, approximately 100 km long mountain range along the southern shore of thePangong Lake in the northern Indian region ofLadakh, runs north of and parallel to theLadakh Range fromTangtse in northwest toChushul in southeast. Its highest peak is 6,700 m (22,000 ft), and the northern slopes are heavily glaciated.[1]Changchenmo Range and Pangong Range are sometimes considered easternmost part of theKarakoram Range.[2] At Chushul, where the Pangong Range ends, theKailash Range runs eastward along the southern bank of Pangong Tso, from centre of Pangong Tso atLukung to the west toPhursook Bay andMount Kailash.[3] Main features on pangong range, from northwest to southeast, are:Harong peak,Merag peak,Kangju Kangri peak, andKongta La pass.
