Palomar 4 is aglobular cluster of theMilky Waygalaxy belonging to thePalomar Globular Clusters group. It was discovered in 1949 byEdwin Hubble and again in 1955 byA. G. Wilson. It is calculated to be 100,000parsecs (330,000light-years) from the Sun.[2]

This star cluster is further away than theSagDEG satellite galaxy.

Initially it was thought to be adwarf galaxy, and it was given the nameUrsa Major Dwarf. However, it was later discovered to be a globular cluster.
