The ranking structure as well as rank insignia of thePakistan Air Force (PAF) are primarily based on theranking structure of theUnited Kingdom'sRoyal Air Force.^[1] The insignia for PAFofficer ranks underwent an extensive change in 2006, whereby British-influenced rank insignia were dropped for the adoption ofTurkish-style insignia, while the British ranking style was maintained.^[2]
