Padawan[1] is a sub-district ofKuching District,Sarawak,Malaysia. The name is also used to refer to thelocal government in Sarawak, thePadawan Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Padawan), and toBidayuh Village, which is also known as Kampung Padawan. The Jalan Padawan is the name of a road near mile 23 of Kuching-Serian Highway.

There is no recent census that related about residents population based on religion in Padawan area. However according to a survey by Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) Sarawak,Christianity is the majority religion in Padawan area, followed byBuddhism,Islam, and some other minority religions that available in this sub-district area.

Padawan is connected with Kuching-Serian Highway, while 10th mile junction has its own Borneo Heights Link, uptown towards Borneo Highlands Resort. Air transportation can be reached byKuching International Airport, about 4 miles from Kota Padawan (10th mile), hotspot area.
Most road transportation that available in Padawan are buses,taxis,e-hailing, andmini vans (known locally as 'Van Sapu') which still popular among all community in this region.
Government of Sarawak has planned to build a new firstmodern cycling bridge. This newmodern cycling bridge will be connecting between Batu Kawa New Township (MJC Batu Kawa) and Pines Square City, Batu Kawa. Residents inBatu Kawa area can allowed to walking or ride bicycle away in this cycling bridge, without crossing the busiest road and also as the best solution to preventing road accidents among pedestrian and bicycle riders.
