Namibiasovereign country located along theAtlantic Coast ofSouthern Africa.[1] Namibia shares borders withAngola andZambia to the north,Botswana to the east, and South Africa to the south. It gained independence from South Africa in 1990 and its capital city isWindhoek (German:Windhuk). Namibia is a member state of theUnited Nations (UN), theSouthern African Development Community (SADC), theAfrican Union (AU), and theCommonwealth of Nations. It is named after theNamib Desert.
