Kansas –U.S. state located in theMidwestern United States.[1] It is named after theKansas River which flows through it, which in turn was named after theKansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area.[2] The tribe's name (nativelykką:ze) is often said to mean "people of the wind" or "people of the south wind," although this was probably not the term's original meaning.[3][4]
