Out Stealing Horses (Norwegian:Ut og stjæle hester) is a 2019 Norwegiandrama film directed byHans Petter Moland. It was selected to compete for theGolden Bear at the69th Berlin International Film Festival.[1] At Berlin, the film won theSilver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution.[2] It was selected as the Norwegian entry for theBest International Feature Film at the92nd Academy Awards, but was not nominated.[3]
A 67-year-old recalls the summer of 1948, the year he turned fifteen.[4]
The film was shot in rural Norway, inTrysil Municipality, and also in Lithuania's nature parks and the cities ofKaunas andVilnius.[5][6]
