Osio Sotto (Bergamasque:Öss de Sóta) is acomune (municipality) in theProvince of Bergamo in theItalian region ofLombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast ofMilan and about 11 kilometres (7 mi) southwest ofBergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 11,097 and an area of 7.5 square kilometres (2.9 sq mi).[3]
Founded in Roman times,[4] the comune is currently the tenth municipality in theprovince of Bergamo by population, and the fourth of the southern Bergamo region.
Osio Sotto borders the following municipalities:Boltiere,Brembate,Filago,Levate,Osio Sopra,Verdellino.
