InGreek mythology,Oreads (/ˈɔːriˌæd,ˈɔːriəd/;Ancient Greek:Ὀρειάς,romanizedOreiás) orOrestiads (/ɔːˈrɛstiˌæd,-iəd/;Ὀρεστιάδες,Orestiádes) aremountainnymphs.[1] They are described as being companions ofArtemis, or as being found alongside gods such asPan orDionysus.[2]

A 2nd-century AD epigram relates that, with the help of the daughters ofNilus, they erected a place of worship in honour of the woman Isidora, who died by drowning.[3]
