Omomys is an extinct genus ofomomyid primate from MiddleEocene North America.[ 1]
The postcrania ofOmomys suggest it was adapted for leaping, bearing longischia andilia .[ 2] Themastoid part of the temporal bone waspneumatized .[ 3] Compared to Europeanmicrochoerines ,Omomys was more basal inpostcrania , lacking a prominent posterior talar shelf.[ 4] [ 2] Omomys is thought to have weighed around 300 grams.[ 4]
