TheOmar Mahamoud (Somali:Cumar Maxamuud,Arabic:عمر محمود) is a Somali sub-clan and Mudug, Nugaal and Doollo Sultanate (Islaan) , part of the Mohamoud Saleeban, itself a sub-clan of theMajeerteen sub-clan of the Harti conglomeration ofDarod clans. The Omar Mohamoud is one of the largestMajeerteen sub-clans. The Omar Mohamoud clan primarily inhabit theMudug[1] and southernNugaal regions ofPuntland in northernSomalia. a large number of the clan settle in Doollo region ofOgadenia, as well as in the port city ofKismayo and theLower Juba region of southernSomalia.[2][3][1]
