Olsky District (Russian:О́льский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of theeight inMagadan Oblast,Russia. It is located in the south of theoblast, consists of two unconnected mainland parts separated by theterritories ofKhasynsky District and thetown of oblast significance ofMagadan, and also has jurisdiction over several islands. The area of the district is 75,900 square kilometers (29,300 sq mi).[2] Itsadministrative center is theurban locality (anurban-type settlement) ofOla.[1] As of the2010 Census, the total population of the district was 10,496, with the population of Ola accounting for 59.2% of that number.[3]

Geography

TheOla, theArman (with theKhasyn) and theYama cross the district from north to south and theBuyunda has its sources in the district. TheOlsky Plateau and theMaymandzhin Range are located in the district.[11]
