Ollaraya District is one of sevendistricts of the provinceYunguyo inPuno,Peru.[1]

History

Tinicachi District was created by Law No. 24019 (December 24, 1984), in second term ofFernando Belaúnde Terry.

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainlyindigenous citizens ofAymara descent.Aymara is the language which the majority of the population (80.95%) learnt to speak in childhood, 18.81% of the residents started speaking using theSpanish language (2007 Peru Census).[2]
