Olinia is agenus of small trees and shrubs with 10 species in the familyPenaeaceae. The species ofOlinia are native toAfrica, ranging from west Africa toSouth Africa. It was previously regarded as the sole genus in the familyOliniaceae, but is now included in the expanded Penaeaceae along withRhynchocalyx (formerly of the Rhynchocalycaceae) under theAPG III system of classification.[1]
