Oleksiy Oleksandrovych Hutsulyak (Ukrainian:Олексій Олександрович Гуцуляк; born 25 December 1997) is a Ukrainian professionalfootballer who plays as aleft midfielder forPolissya Zhytomyr and theUkraine national team.
Hutsulyak is the product of the UFK Lviv School System. His first trainers were Taras Pavlish and Andriy Dulibskyi.[1]
He made his debut forKarpaty Lviv againstFC Metalurh Donetsk on 1 March 2015 inUkrainian Premier League.[2]
In 2020 he signed for withDesna Chernihiv in the Ukrainian Premier League, becoming the most expensive player bought by the club ofChernihiv.[3] He helped them qualify for the quarterfinals of the2019-20 Ukrainian Cup.
He was included in the match day lineup for Desna Chernihiv againstVfL Wolfsburg in the2020–21 Europa League third qualifying round at theAOK Stadion and made his first European competitive appearance as a second-half substitute.[4] On 8 March 2021 he scored his first league goal for Desna Chernihiv againstRukh Lviv in a 4–0 away victory.[5] On 10 April he scored his second league goal againstOleksandriya in a 4–1 victory.[6]
On 15 August 2021, he transferred toDnipro-1 on a four-year contract for €500,000,[7]
In June 2024 he signed a two-year contract with Polissya Zhytomyr for two years. In the first half of the 2024-25 season in 19 matches he scored 10 goals and 2 assists. He was named by fans the best player in Polissya that year. He took second place in a Komanda1 website survey to determine the best football player of 2024 in the Ukrainian championship.
Hutsulyak has represented Ukraine at every level fromunder-16 tounder-21. In April 2022 he received his first call-up to theUkraine national team but did not appear.[8]
He made his debut on 21 March 2024 in aUEFA Euro 2024 qualifying play-offs game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.[9]
