Ogden is aresidential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant ofCalgary,Alberta. It includes the districts ofLynnwood andMillican Estates. It is bounded byGlenmore Trail to the south,Deerfoot Trail and theBow River to the west, and theCPR tracks and the industrial areas of Ogden Shops to the north and east.
Ogden was established in 1912. It is named after I.G. Ogden, former VP of theCanadian Pacific Railway, while the district of Millican takes its name from the Millican family, homesteaders of the early 1900s. It is represented in theCalgary City Council by the Ward 9 councillor.

The Ogden Royal Legion is an abandoned building located in the Ogden neighborhood. It was previously used as aRoyal Canadian Legion building andcommunity centre. It was abandoned in 2012, and currently sits vacant. It is widely considered the most dangerous abandoned building in the city by local Calgaryurban explorers, due to its' large amount ofviolent crime,mold,asbestos, and other toxic materials.
In November 2023, thecity of Calgary ordered the building to be demolished, in which the owners would take the city to court over the decision.[3]
The attempt from the owner to cancel the demolition order was dismissed by the Court of King's Bench in mid-2025, with the city hiring a contractor to demolish the building for 2026.[4]
In the early morning hours of October 1, 2025, the building would be engulfed in a fire. Roughly one third of the building was burnt, and emergency demolition of portions of the building underwent. Due to the unsafe conditions inside the building, fire fighters were not allowed to enter the building.[5]
In the City of Calgary's 2012 municipal census, Ogden had a population of8,702 living in3,879 dwellings, a 3.2% increase from its 2011 population of8,432.[6] With a land area of 4.1 km2 (1.6 sq mi), it had a population density of2,122/km2 (5,500/sq mi) in 2012.[7][6]

Residents in this community had amedian household income of$47,500 in 2000, and there were 18.1% low income residents living in the neighbourhood.[8] As of 2000, 14.6% of the residents wereimmigrants. A proportion of 19.9% of the buildings werecondominiums orapartments, and 33.3% of the housing was used forrenting.[2]

In December 2012, CP Rail decided to relocate its corporate head offices to Ogden.[10] This move will involve building new corporate offices within the existing century-old Ogden rail yard.
The community is served by Banting & Best Elementary and Sherwood Communitypublic schools, as well as St. Bernadette Elementary School (Catholic).
