TheNumaligarh Refinery is adivision ofOil India Limited which is under theownership ofMinistry of Petroleum and Natural Gas,Government of India. It is located atMorangi,Golaghat district,Assam in India. Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) was adivision ofBPCL. It opened in 1999.[3] The commercial production commenced from 1 October 2000.

As of 2014[update], it had a capacity of 3 million metric tonnes per year.[4] In January 2019, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved plans to increase the refinery's capacity to 9 million metric tonnes per year.[5]
