TheNovo Mesto helmet (also known as "Šmarjeta type"^[1] or "Molnik group"^[1]) refer to an Eastern Celtic type of bowl-shaped helmets, with specimen found at the archaeological sites of Mihovo, Šmarjeta and Novo Mesto in Slovenia,^[2] Siemiechów in Poland (spoils, non-native),^[3] Boiko-Ponura in Russia.^[4]

A specimen of a Late Celtic^[5] bowl-shaped bronze helmet found at Šmarjeta-Vinji Vrh archaeological site in Slovenia was buried together with a Noric sword, round shield,^[6] horse equipment,^[7] and La Tene finds.^[5]
