Notchko is alocality[1] inHumboldt County,California. It is located on theKlamath River 4 miles (6.4 km) south ofJohnsons,[1] at an elevation of 151 feet (46 m).[2] It is located on theYurok Indian Reservation and was a significantYurok burial site for generations;[3] like many locales in the area, it was heavily damaged in theChristmas flood of 1964, with the remaining residents being offered sub-standard replacement housing without utilities.[4]
