North West Warriors is one of four provincial cricket teams inIreland. Along with theLeinster Lightning,Northern Knights andMunster Reds, it makes up theInter-Provincial Championship,Inter-Provincial Cup &Inter-Provincial Trophy.
The team is located in the west ofUlster province containing areas of theRepublic of Ireland andNorthern Ireland. The team managed byNorth West of Ireland Cricket Union.
In 2013,Cricket Ireland formed the three-dayInter-Provincial Championship, featuring teams fromLeinster, theNCU and the North West. The North West team is known as theNorth West Warriors. On 8 April, they announcedBobby Rao as their coach.[1]
Up to and including the2016 Inter-Provincial Championship, the matches were not given first-class status. However, at anInternational Cricket Council meeting in October 2016, first-class status was awarded to all future matches.[2][3]
