The family ofNorth Huon Gulf languages is a subgroup of theHuon Gulf languages ofPapua New Guinea.

It consists of threelanguages, all of which are distinguished by severe truncation of many inherited roots and the compensatory development of suprasegmentals on vowels: phonemic tone inYabem andBukawa (Ross 1993) and nasalization inKela (Johnson 1994).
