Noa Essengue (born 18 December 2006;French pronunciation:[nɔɑəsɛnɡe])[1][2] is a French professionalbasketball player for theChicago Bulls of theNational Basketball Association (NBA).

Professional career

Essengue was born inOrléans and played for the youth department ofOrléans Loiret Basket as a child.[3] He began his professional career playing forCentre Fédéral de Basket-ball, a team affiliated withINSEP, inNationale Masculine 1 (NM1).[4]

Essengue signed withRatiopharm Ulm of theBasketball Bundesliga (BBL) on 21 July 2023.[5] He spent most of his first season assigned toOrangeAcademy, Ulm's developmental team.[6] In the 2024–25 season, playing for coachTy Harrelson at Ulm, Essengue became a "key contributor" for the team, according toFIBA.[7]

On 26 June 2025, Essengue was drafted by theChicago Bulls with the 12th pick in theNBA draft.[8] On December 3, Essengue was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.[9] He totaled just over six minutes in his rookie season, going 0-for-3 from the floor. In four games with theG-LeagueWindy City Bulls, Essengue averaged 23 points, 8.5 rebounds in 30.8 minutes.[10]

National team career

Essengue was named to theFrance under-18 national team to compete in the2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket.[11] He was named to thesenior team for France'sEuroBasket 2025 qualifier matches against Cyprus.[12]
