The 'no' campaign was aEurosceptic campaign in theUnited Kingdom beginning in 2000[1] which was opposed to the UK's adoption of theeuro. The campaign was funded byBusiness for Sterling andNew Europe groups and was mothballed in spring 2004[2] afterChancellorGordon Brown ruled out UK membership of the euro for the foreseeable future.[3] The campaign was founded byNick Herbert, who as chief executive of Business for Sterling hiredDominic Cummings as campaign director.
The campaign title was simply "No" while its slogan and explanation was "Europe Yes. Euro No."
