Nipissing District is adistrict inNortheastern Ontario in theCanadian province ofOntario. It was created in 1858. The district seat isNorth Bay.
In 2021, the population was 84,716. The land area is 16,986.20 square kilometres (6,558.41 sq mi); the population density was 5.0 per square kilometre (13/sq mi), making it one of the most densely populated districts in northern Ontario.[1]
TheSudbury District was created in 1894 from townships of easternAlgoma District and west Nipissing District. TheTimiskaming District was created in 1912 from parts of Algoma, Nipissing, and Sudbury Districts.

With a land area of 16,986.2 km2 (6,558.4 sq mi), it had a population density of5.0/km2 (12.9/sq mi) in 2021.[1]
