Niororo Island or spelled in some maps asNyororo Island (Kisiwa cha Niororo, inSwahili) is an island of theMafia Archipelago located inKirongwe ward ofMafia District in southernPwani Region ofTanzania. The island has a small islet to the south east. The Island is located north ofShungumbili Island and is bordered to the north isMafia Island.[1] To the south isJuani Island and to the east is thesea of Zanj. Many locations, particularly off Miewi island, were used for the majority of thesport fishing industry in the islands. However,Tutia Reef was regarded to be the best fishing location.[2]
