Brenden McAleavey[1] (born December 31, 1989), better known by hisring nameNinja Mack, is an Americanprofessional wrestler currently performing forPro Wrestling Noah, where he is a one-timeGHC Junior Heavyweight Champion and one-timeGHC Openweight Hardcore Champion. He also worked forGame Changer Wrestling andRing of Honor.[2]

Early life

Born onLong Island, Mack was raised inCypress, Texas. He has an athletic background, as he competed in amateur wrestling atCypress Creek High School, and later worked as a gymnastics coach at Cypress Academy of Gymnastics. He also toured withCirque du Soleil, as well as with other circuses in the United States, Mexico, Venezuela and Belgium.[3]

Professional wrestling career

Mack was trained byBooker T, and debuted for Booker's promotionReality of Wrestling (ROW) in December 2014 under thering name Brendan Skye.[4] He would continue to make appearances for theHouston promotion over the next two years.[5] He initially wrestled on theindependent circuit inTexas, featuring for promotions such as Promociones Martinez,[6] Loko Wrestling,[7] Pale Pro Wrestling[8] and the Independent Wrestling Expo.[9] He also took an extended break from wrestling, following the birth of his son.[3]

Game Changer Wrestling (2021–present)

Mack's performance in a Loko Wrestling match involving him andDante Leon attracted the attention ofGame Changer Wrestling (GCW).[3] On April 8, 2021, at Jimmy Lloyd's D-Generation F, Mack made his debut for the promotion, winning in a six man scramble match.[10] He later partnered with Leon, in two unsuccessful challenges for the GCW Tag Team Championship, losing to the Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner andMatthew Justice) andThe Briscoes (Jay Briscoe andMark Briscoe).[11][12] Although he had previously worked unmasked for GCW, Mack would adopt theninjapersona upon the advice ofKonnan, after a short stint in Mexico.[3]

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2021)

In July 2021, Mack worked two dates forLucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), under the ring name Kamikaze. On July 3, atVerano de Escándalo, he participated in aTrofeo Alas de Oro match, which was won byEl Hijo del Vikingo.[13] On July 5, he teamed withAramís andDinastía in a loss toAbismo Negro Jr.,Arez and Toxin.[14]

Pro Wrestling Noah (2022–present)

On January 3, 2022, at Reboot, Mack appeared in a "coming soon" video.[15] He had intended to make his debut forPro Wrestling Noah the previous year as well as in February, but has been unable to enter the country due toJapan's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and a rise in cases stemming from theomicron variant.[3][16]

Mack made his debut on April 29 atMajestic – N-Innovation, defeating Alpha Wolf and Dragon Bane in a three way elimination match.[17] On July 16, atDestination, Mack defeatedDante Leon.[18] On October 30, atAriake Triumph, Mack defeatedHayata for theGHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, his first title in the promotion.[19] Eleven days later, atGlobal Honored Crown, Mack lost the title in his first defense against Leon.[20]

On February 21, 2023, at theKeiji Muto Grand Final Pro-Wrestling "Last" Love event, Mack teamed withNaomichi Marufuji andEl Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a six-man tag team match, defeatingDragon Gate's Z-Brats (Shun Skywalker,Kai andDiamante).[21] On May 4, atMajestic, Mack failed to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship from Hayata.[22] On September 24, atGrand Ship in Nagoya, Mack teamed withAlejandro and lost toAlpha Wolf andDragón Bane for the vacantGHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.[23]

Westside Xtreme Wrestling (2022)

On the weekend of March 4–6, 2022, Mack was involved in four matches during the 16 Carat Gold tournament, held byWestside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw). On night one, Mack wrestled in a five way match to qualify as an alternate, which was won byHektor Invictus.[24] On night two, Mack defeatedAce Romero in alotterie match to win the vacantwXw Shotgun Championship.[25] The following day, Mack defended the title against Tamás Szabó,[26] and on night three, he dropped the title to Maggot in a four way match that also involved Ender Kara andThe Rotation.[27]

Ring of Honor (2022)

On April 1, 2022, Mack was defeated byBrian Cage atSupercard of Honor XV.[28]
