Shanglakpam Nilakanta Sharma (born 2 May 1995)[2] is an Indianfield hockey player who plays as amidfielder for theIndian national team.
He was part of the Indian squad that won the2016 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup. And Finally he won gold medal in2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.[3]
Hailing from Kontha Ahallup Makha Leikai inImphal East, Nilakanta started playing hockey in 2003. He played for Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur until 2011 when he switched to Bhopal Hockey Academy. He was selected for the national junior team for the2014 Sultan of Johor Cup[4] and drafted by theDabang Mumbai franchise of theHockey India League.[5]
