Nikolaos (Nikos) Chatzivrettas (alternate spelling: Hatzivrettas) (Greek: Νικόλαος (Νίκος) Χατζηβρέττας; born May 26, 1977) is a retired Greek professionalbasketball player. At a height of 1.97 m (6 ft 53⁄4 in) tall, he played at theshooting guard andsmall forward positions. He was inducted into theGreek Basket League Hall of Fame in 2022.[1]
Before signing with Aris, Chatzivrettas played withAias Evosmou,Iraklis,CSKA Moscow, andPanathinaikos. He won theEuroLeague championship withPanathinaikos in2007 and2009. In July 2009, he joined "The Emperor" of Greek basketball,Aris Thessaloniki.[2]
He left Aris at the end of 2011, after his contract ended, and he eventually retired from professionalclub basketball after that.
Chatzivrettas was a member of the seniorGreece men's national basketball team. He played for Greece at the2001 EuroBasket, the2003 EuroBasket, and the2004 Summer Olympic Games. With Greece, he won the gold medal at the2005 EuroBasket, and the silver medal at the2006 FIBA World Cup. He also played at the2007 EuroBasket.
