Nikitin Dheer is an Indian actor who primarily works inHindi andTelugu films, and Hindi television. Dheer made his acting debut in 2008 with the filmJodhaa Akbar. He is best known for portrayingAstika inNaagarjuna – Ek Yoddha (2016-2017) andRavana inShrimad Ramayan (2024). Dheer has appeared in successful films such asReady (2011),Chennai Express (2013),Kanche (2015),Shershaah (2021) andSooryavanshi (2021), and the seriesIndian Police Force (2024).

Dheer made his acting debut in 2008 withAshutosh Gowariker'shistorical dramaJodhaa Akbar, in which he co-starred alongsideHrithik Roshan andAishwarya Rai Bachchan, as Sharifuddin Hussain,Akbar's brother-in-law.^[1] While the film earned critical appreciation and box office success, Dheer received praise for his role, with noted criticTaran Adarsh ofBollywood Hungama mentioning him as "fantastic".^[2] The same year he acted alongsideVivek Oberoi,Shriya Saran andZayed Khan inApoorva Lakhia's unremarkableaction thrillerMission Istaanbul.

In 2011, Dheer appeared inAnees Bazmee'scomedyReady, alongsideSalman Khan andAsin. The following year, he had a supporting role inArbaaz Khan'saction filmDabangg 2 alongside Salman Khan,Sonakshi Sinha andPrakash Raj. In 2013, he featured as the primary antagonist inRohit Shetty's action comedyChennai Express withShahrukh Khan andDeepika Padukone. For his role as Tangaballi, a dreadedTamil goon, Dheer was asked to gain more muscle and work on his accent.^[3][4] His physique in the film was received warmly; Mohar Basu noted that Dheer is "robust" although "hardly has a role enough to perform".^[5]

Dheer isPunjabi and is the son of actorPankaj Dheer.^[6][7]

Dheer married actressKratika Sengar on 3 September 2014 in a traditionalHindu wedding ceremony, inMumbai.^[7][8] Sengar gave birth to their daughter, Devika, on 12 May 2022.^[9][10]
