Nika Futterman (born October 25, 1969)[1] is an American voice actress and singer. She is known for her voices in various animated series, including Mike inMike, Lu & Og,Asajj Ventress inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, Stretch and Squeeze inHandy Manny, Cuckoo-Loca inMinnie's Bow-Toons, Miguel inMaya & Miguel, and Adam Lyon inMy Gym Partner's a Monkey.[2] She has voiced many characters forNickelodeon, including Omnia in the Nickelodeon version ofWinx Club, Chum Chum inFanboy and Chum Chum, Olga Pataki inHey Arnold!, Belle Pepper inSanjay and Craig, and Luna Loud inThe Loud House.

Personal life

Futterman was born in New York City.[3] Her father was a music producer. She initially had wanted to become a sketch comedian prior to becoming a voice actor.[4]

Among her first professional acting roles were single episode appearances onChicago Hope andMurphy Brown.

Futterman has provided her voice in many cartoons, including recurring roles on animated adventure and superhero series such asG.I. Joe: Renegades,Batman: The Brave and the Bold, andThe Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Futterman is the voice ofAsajj Ventress in the 2008 animated filmThe Clone Wars andits subsequent TV series as well as several related video games. She has provided the voice for Sy Snootles among other characters. She attended her firstStar Wars Weekend on the last weekend of June 2012. She was on the show Behind the Force along with her cast membersAshley Eckstein andJames Arnold Taylor with Supervising DirectorDave Filoni. Futterman also voicesSticks the Badger in theSonic Boom TV series[5] and its associated video games,Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal andSonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.[6]

Futterman also voiced Shaeeah Lawquane and Asajj Ventress inStar Wars: The Bad Batch.[7]

Singing career

Futterman performed the vocals "Give it to me, baby" inThe Offspring's hit single "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)"[8] and cameo backup vocals for a performance ofWham!'s "Careless Whisper" on an episode ofKids Incorporated. Some of Futterman's animated characters sing songs within the soundtrack of a show, as well. She sings the theme song ofMy Gym Partner's a Monkey in-character as Adam Lyon, Sandy ofBubble Guppies sings a song about coconut water several times in the episode she is featured in, Kip Ling ofHisteria! usually only shows up in the songs on the show, the second title character ofFanboy & Chum Chum sings many times (Futterman is also often accompanied on lead vocals during theFB&CC songs byDavid Hornsby, who voices Fanboy), Stretch and Squeeze ofHandy Manny sing two songs called "We Work Together" and "Hop Up, Jump In" alongside the other tools, and Luna Loud ofThe Loud House is a musician, and frequently sings. Futterman also performed the vocals asCatwoman for the song, "Birds of Prey" in theBatman: The Brave and the Bold episode, "The Mask of Matches Malone," along withGrey DeLisle andTara Strong, who voicedBlack Canary andHuntress respectively.
