Commonwealth Games appearances (overview)

Nigeria competed at the2022 Commonwealth Games held inBirmingham,England from 28 July to 8 August 2022.[1] It was Nigeria's 15th appearance at the Commonwealth Games.[2]

Nnamdi Chinecherem andFolashade Oluwafemiayo were the country's flagbearers during theopening ceremony.[3]

As of 16 March 2022, nine weightlifters (two men, seven women) qualified for the competition.[6]

Stella Kingsley,Adijat Olarinoye,Rafiatu Folashade Lawal andJoy Ogbonne Eze qualified by winning gold at the2021 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.[7] The other five qualified via the IWF Commonwealth Ranking List, which was finalised on 9 March 2022.
