Nicole Dmitrievna Kozlova (Ukrainian:Ніколь Дмитрівна Козлова; born 8 July 2000) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forScottish Women's Premier League clubGlasgow City. Born in Canada, she plays for theUkraine national team.
Kozlova was born inToronto,Ontario, to Ukrainian parents.[1][2] She began playing soccer at age five with USC Academy.[1]
In 2014 and 2015, she was part of theOntario REX program,[3] and also played withToronto Skillz FC in 2015.[4] In 2015 and 2016, she won back-to-backOntario Cups with Scarborough GS United,[5][3] also earning back-to-back bronze medals at thenational championships.[3] She represented Team Ontario at the2017 Canada Games.[6]
In 2018, she began attendingVirginia Tech, where she played for thewomen's soccer team.[7] She redshirted her first year, after tearing her ACL, forcing her to miss the entire season.[8] In September 2019, she earnedAtlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Player of the Week honours, after scoring back-to-back game winning goals.[9] In 2021, she earned All-ACC Academic Team honours.[10]
In 2016, she appeared in one match forAurora United FC inLeague1 Ontario.[11] In 2017, Kozlova played for theWoodbridge Strikers in that league where she scored 11 goals[12] and was named a league First-Team All Star.[13] In 2018 and 2019, she played forDeRo United FC in the same league.[14][15]
In 2022, she joinedHB Køge in Denmark.[16][17][18]
In July 2023, Kozlova signed a one-year contract withUkrainian Women's League clubFC Vorskla Poltava.[19][20] She won the league and cup double, scoring 16 goals in 20 league matches.[21]
In July 2024, she signed withScottish Women's Premier League clubGlasgow City.[22][23] She made her debut on 11 August, scoring two goals in a 7-0 victory overMontrose.[24]
In 2016, she made her debut with theUkraine U17.[25]
In March 2017, she attended a camp with theCanada U20 team.[1][26]
In May 2017, she scored four goals and added five assists in three matches with Ukraine at the UEFA U18 Development Tournament.[7][27]
In June 2019, she earned her first callup to theUkraine national team. She made her debut on 5 October 2019 againstGermany.[7] In 2022, they won the2022 Turkish Women's Cup.[28] She scored her first senior goal on 7 March 2020 at the2020 Pinatar Cup againstNorthern Ireland.[29][30]
