Nicola Lacorte (born 1 June 2007) is an Italianracing driver who competes in theIMSA SportsCar Championship forCetilar Racing. He previously competed in theFIA Formula 3 Championship forDAMS Lucas Oil as part of theAlpine Academy.

Lacorte is the son ofpharmaceutical entrepreneurRoberto Lacorte. He was a race-winner in theItalian F4 Championship.

Career

Karting

Lacorte finished 56th in the 2021FIA Karting European Championship.[1] In July 2022, he contested in a scouting camp conducted by theFerrari Driver Academy.[2]

2022

Lacorte made his single-seater debut at theRed Bull Ring round of the2022 Italian F4 Championship withIron Lynx.[3] His only points came in his first race, where he ended 28th in the standings.[4]

2023

Lacorte signed withPrema Racing in 2023 to compete inFormula 4 UAE andItalian F4.[5] In the former, the Italian did not have a very successful campaign; he only managed two points finishes and was 24th in the standings with five points. In his main campaign, he started the season well with a third placed podium in the first race inImola.[6] He proceeded to take his first win during the third race after polesitter and teammateUgo Ugochukwu was eliminated on the opening lap.[7] However, those were his only podiums of the season, as Lacorte placed ninth in the standings with only seven further points finishes.[8]

Formula Regional

At the start of 2024, Lacorte participated in theFormula Regional Oceania Championship withM2 Competition.[9] He took part in the first three rounds of the year, and won a race inHampton Downs Motorsport Park.[10] His main campaign consisted of a full season in theFormula Regional European Championship.[11] Driving forTrident, Lacorte only managed to finish in the points twice on his way to 21st overall.[12][13][14]

FIA Formula 3 Championship

For 2025, Lacorte entered theFIA Formula 3 Championship with new entrantsDAMS.[15] The season started slowly, as Lacorte's best result after three rounds was 15th in theImola sprint race. At theMonaco round, he was disqualified from qualifying after receiving outside assistance to rejoin the track after an off at T1, but re-entered the session even after receiving the black flag.[16] He then retired after causing a collision withSantiago Ramos during the sprint race, having pinched Ramos on the inside of T7 during the opening lap, which earned Lacorte a grid penalty.[17] His seven penalty points were added to at the next event inBarcelona, where Lacorte began by causing a collision withJosé Garfias in qualifying, moving into the latter's car in frustration after believing to have been brake-tested.[18] During the feature race, Lacorte caused a collision withBrando Badoer at turn 1, earning himself a 12th penalty point that resulted in him being banned from the following round inAustria.[19] Lacorte also accrued six further penalty points for multiple safety car speeding infractions.[20] He finished the season 33rd in the points standings

Formula One

In December 2023, Lacorte joined theAlpine Academy.[21]

Sportscar racing

At the start of 2025, Lacorte entered into the24 Hours of Daytona withCetliar Racing, driving alongside his father Roberto.[22] Later that year in November, Lacorte joined theFIA World Endurance Championship rookie test at theBahrain International Circuit, driving theFerrari 296 GT3 forAF Corse.[23]
