Nicholas Rutherford is an American actor, comedian, writer, and founding member of the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor. He is best known for starring asPatient 88 in theAdult Swim seriesDream Corp LLC and for his work as a writer and producer onRick and Morty. Rutherford has also contributed as a writer forSaturday Night Live.
Rutherford is fromThousand Oaks, California.[1] He attended college at theUniversity of Southern California, where he performed in the school'simprov andsketch comedy group, Commedus Interruptus.[2]
In 2007, Rutherford formed the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor alongsideKyle Mooney,Beck Bennett, andDave McCary. In 2014, Rutherford joined the writing staff forseason 40 ofSaturday Night Live.[3][4][5][6]
On April 30, 2014, he appeared as a guest on the web seriesTalking Marriage with Ryan Bailey. From 2016 to 2020, Rutherford starred in the Adult Swim seriesDream Corp, LLC, on which he also contributed as a writer. In 2015, he worked as a voice actor and writer on theFox animated seriesGolan the Insatiable, penning the fourth season episode, "Shell Raiser."
Since 2019, Rutherford has served as a writer and co-executive producer onRick and Morty.[7][8][9]
