Nicholas Amyoony (born March 14, 1995), better known online asNick Eh 30, is a Canadianonline streamer,YouTuber andprofessional gamer. Amyoony began making gaming videos as a student atDalhousie University, and later dropped out to pursue his gaming and streaming career as he received online success while starting to playFortnite Battle Royale in late 2017. Amyoony is particularly known for beingfamily-friendly.[2][3]
Nicholas Amyoony[4][5] was born on March 14, 1995[6] and is ofLebanese Canadian descent.[7] He was raised inHalifax, Nova Scotia and became interested in video games at a young age, particularlyThe Last of Us.[citation needed] He attendedPrince Andrew High School inDartmouth, Nova Scotia.[8] During his high school years, Amyoony received high grades while actively participating intaekwondo, guitar lessons, andfootball. With aspirations to become adoctor, Amyoony dedicated much of his time focusing on his studies, leading him to give upextracurricular activities and spending time with his friends. Whenever he needed a break, Amyoony would play on hisPlayStation 3.[9] His name "Nick Eh 30" comes from "Nick" being a part of his name, the "Eh" originating from the first letter of his last name, A, as a nod to the Canadian "Eh" stereotype, and the "30" coming from his high school football jersey number.[8]
Amyoony launched his "Nick Eh 30"YouTube channel in December 2014, although he started earlier under a different channel.[10] He initially created gaming videos primarily focused onThe Last of Us,[11] while also exploring other titles such asUncharted 4 andResident Evil 7.[12] His father, who now serves as hismanager, granted Amyoony one year to pursue his gaming career.[8] In March 2016, he received a shout-out fromPewDiePie.[13][14] The following year, in 2017, he started streaming professionally and began playingFortnite in December.[12] Despite previously studying for hisBachelor of Science atDalhousie University, Amyoony decided to drop out and pursue his gaming career full-time.[9][15] In 2018, Amyoony, as well asFacebook gaming streamer StoneMountain64, signed with theCreative Artists Agency (CAA).[16]
Starting from September 1, 2019, Amyoony, as aFortnite streamer, made the switch fromlivestreaming on YouTube toTwitch,[12] as a result of his signing onto the platform.[9] While being a popular YouTube streamer at that time, Amyoony continued to create videos on the platform.[12] Subsequently, he earned a spot on theForbes30 Under 30 Games category for the 2020 list.[17][18][19] On November 11, 2020, Amyoony signed withLuminosity Gaming, as announced during theEnthusiast Gaming Live Expo.[20] Later on, he parted ways with the organization on August 29, 2022.[21] On November 22, 2020, Amyoony partnered withEpic Games to host his ownFortnitetournament titled the "Nick Eh 30 Cup".[22][23][24] In 2023, he joined forces withMainframe Studios to produceEndurathon, ananimated series created inUnreal Engine 5.[25][26] In August 2023, Amyoony hosted a $50,000FortniteTwitch Rivals tournament.[27]
Amyoony, who is particularly well-known for beingfamily-friendly,[13][28] currently lives with his parents in Halifax, who both assist him in his streaming career.[8] Unlike with most online creators, he actively includes his parents to participate in his online content and career. In a 2018 video, Amyoony unboxed his1 million YouTube Play Button alongside his parents.[29] Amyoony also has a brother, who has also assisted with work surrounding his online content.[30]
On June 11, 2024,Fortnite released a purchasableoutfit depicting Amyoony.[31][32][33]
