TheNiagara Falls (Māori:Mānga Piri) arerapids of theWaikawa River on theSouth Island inNew Zealand.[1][2]
A surveyor named them ironically because the falls share little in resemblance with theNiagara Falls on the border between the US and Canada. They are rather considered to be the smallest falls inThe Catlins.[3][4] The falls are a potential spawning area forīnanga.[5]
