TheNgaliwurru are anindigenous Australian people of theNorthern Territory.
Ngaliwurru is closely related toJaminjung, two of the three languages of theYirram branch of the nonPama–Nyungan languages.[1]
Norman Tindale assigned to the Ngaliwurru domains a territory of roughly 6,200 square miles (16,000 km2), to the southwest of theVictoria River, and south ofBradshaw. It also includedTimber Creek and the treeless plateau terrain westwards beyondLimbunya, Waterloo and the West Baines River. In relatively modern times, the Ngaliwurru moving southwards took over the traditional lands of the formerTjial people.[2]
