One of eight teams competing in theICC Women's Championship (the highest level of international women's cricket), the team is organised byNew Zealand Cricket , a full member of theInternational Cricket Council (ICC).
New Zealand made itsTest debut in 1935, againstEngland , becoming the third team to play at that level. WithAustralia and England, New Zealand is one of only three teams to have participated in all ten editions of theWomen's Cricket World Cup . The team has made the final of the tournament on four occasions, winningin 2000 and placing secondin 1993 ,1997 , and2009 . At theWomen's T20 World Cup , New Zealand were champions in 2024 and runners up in2009 and2010 .
