New York's 8th State Assembly district is one of the 150 districts in the New York State Assembly. It has been represented by RepublicanMichael Fitzpatrick since 2003.
District 8 is inSuffolk County. The district includes the town ofSmithtown, includingKings Park,Head of the Harbor,Nesconset,Nissequogue andSt. James, and portions of the town ofIslip, such as the hamlets ofHauppauge andIslandia.
The district overlaps New York's1st and2nd congressional districts, as well as the4th and8th districts of theNew York State Senate.
District 8 is inSuffolk County. The district includes the town ofSmithtown, includingKings Park,Head of the Harbor,Nissequogue andSt. James, and the hamlet ofHauppauge, partly within the town ofIslip.
