American legislative district
New York's 18th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in theNew York State Senate. It has been represented byDemocratJulia Salazar since 2019, following her defeat of incumbentMartin Malavé Dilan in the 2018 primary election.[3]
District 18 is located in northernBrooklyn, including the neighborhoods ofBushwick,Cypress Hills,Greenpoint,Williamsburg, and parts ofBedford-Stuyvesant,Brownsville, andEast New York.[1][3]
The district overlaps with New York's7th,8th, and12th congressional districts, and with the 50th, 53rd, 54th, 55th, 56th, and 60th districts of theNew York State Assembly.[4]
