New York's 10th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in theNew York State Senate. It has been represented byDemocratJames Sanders Jr. since 2013, following his defeat of incumbentShirley Huntley in the 2012 Democratic primary election.[3]

District 10 is located in SoutheastQueens, centered aroundJFK International Airport. It includes most ofSpringfield Gardens,The Rockaways and portions ofRosedale,South Ozone Park,Howard Beach,Baisley Park, andJamaica.Baisley Pond Park and most of theJamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge lie within the district.[1][4]

The district is entirely withinNew York's 5th congressional district. It also overlaps with the23rd,29th,31st and32nd districts of theNew York State Assembly and the 27th, 28th, 31st and 32nd districts of theNew York City Council.[5]

District 10 is located in SoutheastQueens, including the neighborhoods ofLaurelton,Rosedale,Springfield Gardens,Edgemere,Bayswater,Arverne, andFar Rockaway, as well as theJohn F. Kennedy International Airport.[1][4]

The district overlaps with New York's5th,6th, and7th congressional districts, and with the 23rd, 24th,28th, 29th, 31st, 32nd, and 38th districts of theNew York State Assembly.[6]
