New Maynaguri railway station is one of two railway stations which serveMainaguri in theJalpaiguri district of West Bengal, the other beingMaynaguri Road Railway Station. The station lies on theNew Mal–Changrabandha–New Cooch Behar line andNew Jalpaiguri–New Bongaigaon section ofBarauni–Guwahati line ofNortheast Frontier Railway. The station lies onAlipurduar railway division.
Major trains:
On 13 th January 2022, Thursday, train number 15633Bikaner–Guwahati Express, travelling fromBikaner Junction toGuwahati railway station got derailed betweenNew Damohani andNew Maynaguri railway station nearSiliguri inWest Bengal at around 4:30pm in the evening.[10][11]
New Maynaguri railway station is at an elevation of 86 metres (282 ft) and was assigned the code NMX.[12]
Construction of the 265 km (165 mi)-long5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm)broad gauge Siliguri–Jogihopa line, between 1963 and 1965, created broad-gauge railway links in North Bengal and Assam.[13]
